Yet again, a gay/pedophile comparison

In dealing with Marcus Kindley and my most recent post on this issue, I think I’ve said enough about how ticked off I get when people say these kinds of things, so just read the article:

Conservative Leader: New Gay Trend ‘Sex With Infants’
by Newscenter Staff

August 3, 2006 – 7:00 pm ET

(New York City) An organizer for the conservative Renew America is under fire for linking homosexuality with infant pedophilia.

“The newest thing in Chicago, it’s becoming a trend, and you’re gonna find this hard to believe…sex with infants,” Guy Adams told an Internet radio show hosted by fellow conservative Stacy L. Harp.

Adams offered no evidence to back up his claims of infant pedophilia.

He appeared on Harp’s program on Wednesday to discuss the recent Gay Games in Chicago and embarked on a nearly 30 minute conversation with Harp to attack gays.

“It’s not enough that they have…you know when you engage in perversion, and homosexuality is perversion, we don’t hate the gays mind you, we don’t hate them, we hate what they’re doing…pretty soon that perversion is like addiction, it’s not enough, so you need to graduate to something else. You need to move on. So now they’re having sex with animals, a small group that’s getting bigger, sex with infants, sex in the street in Chicago out in the open, it’s just getting more and more perverted.”

Adams dismissed the contributions of GLBT people to society by saying, “what contributions, AIDS, pornography?”

He also referred to gay people as “a very angry and violent group when confronted with the truth.”

Renew America is run by Alan Keyes, the conservative talk show host who attempted to run for the Senate from Illinois.

  1. This is hardly surprising. It’s so typical of how the right’s twisted minds are obsessed with pedophilia and inventing weird things to accuse queers of doing.

  2. Vincent Yaga says:

Gays are pedofile. YTall is all gonna die of the aids anyway. i think it’s funny! hahahahahahaha…. Now stop giviing it to little innocent kids. Yall is danger

Maybe you should consult a dictionary to help you spell correctly? Maybe you should also take a grammar course, with full instruction on using complete sentences and proper punctuation? Maybe you should learn how to use the right forms of words, too (“danger” v. “dangerous”)?

It’s so amazing that there are so many of these idiots – you have to think that there is a “talking points” memo somewhere that has this on it’s attack list. I have a story today about the Republican candidate for GA state Attorney General who is spewing the same non-sense.

I wonder how they would feel if everyone started equating Christian Conservatism with hatemongering and oppression…oh wait, that one’s actually true.

could whoever is coming on Matt’s blog and leaving NON-CONSTRUCTIVE COMMENTS PLEASE STOP! YOU ARE ADDING NOTHING TO CONVERSATIONS THAT SHOULD BE MEANINGFUL! If you want to express your opinions please do it in a way that makes you sound intelligent. Otherwise, stop wasting everyone’s time. And by intelligent I mean, please read a dictionary to get the definition of homosexual and pedophilia, before you start comparing the two. Oh, and by the way, AIDS started among heterosexual couples during the “free love” era, so you can’t blame that on homosexuals. Thanks, and have a great day.

  6. Matt says:

    Thanks Natasha.

    You stated:
“Oh, and by the way, AIDS started among heterosexual couples during the “free love” era, so you can’t blame that on homosexuals.”

You know, I’ve never really considered that possible explanation for the start of HIV/AIDS, although I wouldn’t blame it on straight people or gay people as groups. I think you have a valid point in talking about the “free love” era of sex and radical, out of control drug usage though. As we all now, drugs, alcohol and sex do not mix and ALWAYS lead to dramatic, life-altering, and life-threatening consequences.

I don’t think we should place “blame” on any group, but I do think a possible origin of HIV/AIDS does lie in the “free love” and drug era… in BOTH the gay and straight communities.

  7. Natasha says:

Well, if we want to get really technical, it was contracted from monkey to person(I don’t even want to know! lol) It just gets under my skin when people want to blame something as serious as AIDS on homosexuals and pretend like it doesn’t happen to people in heterosexual relationships. This disease keeps being spread because of people’s ignorance and that is just unacceptable.
