Update: Soulforce-Liberty U. arrests and court

Received an update late on Tuesday evening regarding the upcoming May 18th court appearances in Lynchburg, VA, for those arrested in the Soulforce Equality Ride action at Liberty University back in March.

Looks as though Greensboro native Cris Elkins (good friend and colleague of mine) and I won’t have to be making a trip up to Lynchburg on Thursday. Soulforce has reached a settlement with the court: $200 fine for all arrested and $66 in court fees. Soulforce will take care of the appearance on Thursday. Thanks goes out to Cris and Gene, though… as they had already given the offer to let me ride up with them if we had to go.

The next Soulforce action is going to be great. I’m also going to be involved in that, but more details later. For my friends and colleagues, however, don’t be surprised if I ask a favor from you. :)
